Partner | Canary Islands
Paul entered the financial services sector in 1987, gaining experience with the Royal Bank of Scotland and Frizzell/Liverpool Victoria (LV=) before joining Blevins Franks in 2003. He holds the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) as well as all three parts of the UK Financial Planning Certificate.
Paul and his wife Liz moved to the Canaries to take over the Blevins Franks office when the previous Partner retired. Basing themselves on the island of Tenerife, this is where both their sons, Luca and Leon, were born.
With a thorough understanding of the Spanish tax regime and the support of his qualified team, Paul delivers tax-compliant and advantageous solutions for protecting his clients’ wealth. He travels regularly to visit clients living across the Canary Isles, including Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.
For many years now, he has been supported by his personal assistant, Alison Skirrow, and has built a strong reputation for professional advice. With added support from Client Services Officers and Private Client Managers in our Malta operations hub, Paul is known for delivering impeccable service and having excellent client trust. As a result, most of Paul’s new clients are introduced through referrals from existing clients – an achievement he’s very proud of.
Paul and Liz work hard within their local community. Liz is the founder member of ‘Helping Hands’ – a registered charity set up to help the less fortunate children of Tenerife. Since it started, the organisation has raised over €135,000, supporting projects such as a state of the art sensory unit for children with cerebral palsy and specialised computers for disabled children.
Paul grew up in Darwen, Lancashire where he enjoyed playing football and badminton as a youngster. Nowadays, he keeps fit through cycling and running. When away from the office, Paul enjoys the company of his family and spending quality time with his young sons.
